TWO IN ONE FLESH
Fifteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time
(Amos 7:12-15 Ephesians 1:3-14 Mark 6:7-13)
Sent out in pairs
Sending pairs out to proclaim the Good News is repeated in other parts of the New Testament, including accounts of up to forty being sent out in pairs; it is even possible this included married couples. Jesus obviously thought pairs work well together. Married couples can draw spiritual strength from their Sacrament, particularly when they’re working together for the Church.
“The personal encounter with Christ through reading the Word of God together at home constitutes an inspired source of daily living for couples.”
The Synod Fathers
“MARRIAGE MATTERS offers a wonderful resource to couples to help them relate to the Sunday scripture readings and so enhance their love for one another."
Bishop Peter Doyle

MARRIAGE MATTERS are inspiring and very human considerations which can sow seeds of hope, offer meaningful challenges and encourage an openness in couples to deepen their relationship with each other and with God.
Bishop Jean Laffitte, Secretary to the Pontifical Council for the Family, has himself written the very positive and encouraging Foreword for this unique online resource.
We encourage you to download and use these in your Parish and Diocesan newsletters, anywhere that will help raise the profile of marriage.
